I want my lacrosse team to join Team LtN. What should I do?
Great news! First review all of the Get Involved Opportunities and decide how your team would like to support LtN’s programs. Opportunities include Scoop for Loot, Re-Lax equipment drives, custom t-shirts, group merchandise sales, and other creative fundraisers.
Then Join Team LtN by creating your team page and tell the world how you are doing good for others!
Can I join Team LtN as an individual?
Absolutely! From running a marathon to bicycle rides to honoring a coach, you can make a huge difference for LtN. You are in charge of how you would like to fundraise for our kids.

What should I tell people about LtN?
Mission: Lacrosse is the conduit by which LtN achieves its mission of sustainably improving education and health while creating opportunity and joy for children in impoverished communities. Using lacrosse as a PE and after school program, LtN’s holistic approach includes a life skills curriculum, nutrition program, monthly field trips and a scholarship program for our coach’s.

Programs: Currently LtN runs 4 international programs in Nicaragua and Costa Rica and 2 domestic programs in Virginia and Ohio.
What kind of information should I put on my team or individual page?
Your fundraising page serves as tool that allows you communicate with family and friends about your event. But more importantly, it is a place to share your personal story and explain why you are hosting a fundraiser to benefit Lacrosse the Nations. We urge you to upload a photo or team logo!
How can I spread the word about my fundraiser?
All pages are compatible with email and GMail© as well social media sites like Facebook© and Twitter©. Use these share tools! They are great way to market your event.

Can my team Scoop for Loot at multiple games?
Of course! Just include all the different games’ information on your team and individual pages. This way friends and family know your efforts are ongoing.
Following each game, make sure the team’s LtN captain sends the number of ground balls to scoop@lacrossethenations.org
I hate asking for money. Any tips?
The most important thing to remember: If you ask with sincerity on behalf of LtN programs and our amazing participants, people will be thrilled to support you.
Members of Team LtN can ask for support in two ways:
- Upfront Donations
- Pledges per team ground ball in a Scoop for Loot Event
Upfront Donations: Whether you are running a race or holding a Scoop for Loot event, donors can give immediately and quickly by clicking “Donate Now” on your team or individual page. Per IRS regulations, LtN will acknowledge all donations via email and provide tax-deductible information.
Pledges per Ground Ball: Donors can pledge any amount per ground ball in a future predetermined game(s) by clicking “Scoop for Loot Pledge Form” on the team or individual fundraising page. There they enter contact information, the team/player they are supporting and pledge amount.
What happens after my team’s Scoop for Loot game? How do donors who pledged beforehand pay?
When a donor clicks “Scoop for Loot Pledge Form” on a team or individual page, they will be asked to enter contact information, the team/player they are supporting and pledge amount.
Following the predetermined Scoop game(s):
The LtN Captain will send the number of ground balls to scoop@lacrossethenations.org
Each donor will receive an email informing them of the number of ground balls, donation owed and a link to the fundraising page of the team/player they are supporting.
My donors do not want to donate online. Are checks ok?
Yes! Please have all checks mailed to:
Lacrosse the Nations
PO Box 425479
Cambridge, MA 02142
Please have them include the name of team/individual they are supporting. LtN can then add this amount to the overall total.
What are the benefits of joining Team LtN?
All participating members of Team LtN are eligible to join trips to visit our programs in Nicaragua and Costa Rica. Prizes such as t-shirts and merchandise will be sent to:
o Teams that fundraise over $5,000
o Top male/female fundraiser per team
o Top 2013 female fundraiser
o Top 2013 male fundraiser
