Abriendo Mentes

Located in Playa Potrero, Costa Rica, Lacrosse the Nations launched our third international program in March, 2012 with Abriendo Mentes (Opening Minds). A fellow non-profit organization, AM is dedicated to empowering rural Costa Rican communities by providing educational, technological and social resources in order to raise their standards of living and better their lives.

After School Lacrosse Program

Lead by a local coach and an on-the-ground Program Director, we offer after school lacrosse three times a week to two different age groups.  Hosting practices that utilize LtN’s life skills curriculum and nutrition program, the kids of Abriendo Mentes have shown a great excitement to play, an eagerness to participate and a joy of working with adults and volunteers they previously only knew in a classroom setting.

Coaches

Working with an in-country Lacrosse Program Director and local Costa Rican coach, LtN continues to provide sustainable programs at another international site.   Our Director, also staff at Abriendo Mentes, oversees all aspects of program while helping to measure outcomes and arrange group visits.  Our local coach incorporates the life skills curriculum into each practice and encourages love for the sport.
