Mission
Lacrosse the Nations is an international humanitarian organization that utilizes sport and play to provide education, mentorship, hope, and opportunity to children living in impoverished communities worldwide.
Vision and Guiding Principles
Lacrosse the Nations operates under two guiding principles.
- The US lacrosse community is close-knit, well-educated and philanthropic.
- Education is a basic human right essential to overcome poverty.
We engage the lacrosse community as “ambassadors of hope” to spread lacrosse to underserved and impoverished communities worldwide. We partner with schools to teach good health, self-esteem and fun. We strive to improve educational enrollment, attendance and graduation rates. We foster valuable mentor relationships that teach critical life skills on and off the playing field. We empower local communities to take ownership of the program to instill permanent positive change. We establish sustainable and culturally relevant programs by listening humbly to local communities. We measure, track, assess and report on a timely basis. Projects that demonstrate progress continue to attract our support. By bridging the US lacrosse community to local underserved communities, both are enriched by Lacrosse the Nations.
